I'd stay away. Quite dishonest business practices. Before I went, I called and asked if they took Blue Cross Blue Shield, they said yes. I asked if I went in (simple sore throat, wanted a strep test) would I be billed similarly to a Dr.'s visit or an ER visit. They said Dr.'s visit. When I arrived they made me authorize them to charge up to $250 on my credit card before they would see me. I was assured it would not be anywhere near that. Long story short, they billed me $339 and said they are not contracted w/ BCBS and I am out of luck and need to pay full amount. Save the time, money and headache - go to CVS Minute Clinic.
Secondly there was no word in our conversation about my throat! She made that sarcastic comment probably because of my accent ( English is my third language) Her second comment was also absolutely unneccessary! I came to this country “Legally” when this woman was still in her diapers, And I have been paying my medical insurence for 30 years since the day one! I dont think that I should be listening this kind of comments from the “health professional” when I am going to see a doctor! She is paid for directing me to nearest UC facility or ER and keep her sarcastic comments to herself!!!! They dont pay her for that! Welcome to socialize medicine! The difference only is, that in socialist/comunist countries people get healcare for free, they do not pay anything for it! The state owns everything and pays the healtcare providers, nothing is privately owned, nobody cares about the quality of services! In this country we do not go to a doctor for free! Not those citizens who work and pay their insurance! Maybe those who do not work get it for free, but this is not ME! I am paying for my medical insurance for 30 years and I didnt go to UC to listen to her sarcastic and rude comments! I am passing by that building every day on my way to and from work but from now on I will turn my head to other direction and never go to that place again!
She also had the audacity to ask me what my co-pay was, saying, “the PA will only give you an over-the-counter prescription with that co-pay." Excuse me, but what happened to patient confidentiality?? She has no need to know what my co-pay was. And why does my co-pay have anything to do with recieving help??
I have come here several times in the past few years, whenever my own doctor hasn't been able to fit me in. Each time, I have had an excellent experience from checking in to leaving with a diagnosis and help. Everyone from the folks at the front desk to the nurses and PAs I've seen have been caring, professional, and helpful. I am so glad to have this trusted resource locally in case I can't see my doctor.
I just want to tell her and hope she reads this comment, that I didnt go to UC that night to pass the “Politeness test”! I felt sick and I was suppose to leave few hour later for my long planed vacation! Her comment :”You are welcome”was absolutely unnecessery!
On 11/30/2017 approximately at 8:15pm I arrived to the parking lot in front of UC on Hazard Avenue in Enfield. As I got out of my car, the woman in medical uniform with her coat on (short, petite, with glasses, dark hair, probably receptionist), telling me that they are closed. Because she kept repeating it, I told her that I understand what “ closed” means! I asked here where is the nearest UC, she said to try Minute Clinic at Cvs or Johnson Memorial hospital. As I turned around and opened the door on my car she raised her voice and said :”you are welcome” I realized that I didnt say thank u (I didnt feel good and really didnt care at the moment) I turned to her and replied with same words: “You are welcome”! This made her mad, because she raised her voice again and said: Make sure that u have your throat checked ! Then she turned and walked into the building!!
I went in for low back pain I had to be wheel chaired in. They refused giving me an X-ray (due to radiation for my age it’s only if it was needed) however I asked for it. This place advertised as er quality but is far from it. I could barely take two steps without collapsing. It was needed to find the problem. They only checked my heart rate and blood pressure and had me half lift my shirt which doesn’t show what Is wrong she barely looked. They had me pee in a cup however they didn’t know my mom has been in the medical field for over 18 years who was with me. As I peed in a cup my mom stayed outside the door they where all giggling and saying “oh another physical therapy patient”. I had more then 4 employees come into my room that is inappropriate. She then tried proceeding me with high dosage medicine which my mother said she didn’t want me on high dosage which is worse then an X-ray she ignored my mother and wrote it out anyway. Which my mom restated it again she then stated why did you even come here if you know everything. I left in tears then had to pay 200 dollars complete rip off and shouldn’t have been charged after mistreatment and not provided the care advertised.
White Receptionist with black hair and glasses and is VERY rude (rolling eyes, giving dirty looks, talking down to clients) and unhelpful.
