This store is by far worth 6 stars. The staff is amazingly attentive and they make customer's feel welcome and appreciated. Maria waited on us at very a busy time, but she never made us feel rushed or that she was hurrying us along. The prices, the varieties, and the quality of their products are fresh and delicious. I was impressed with every aspect of my experience.

On the takeout side: Meal prices are good compared to restaurants, and they run regular specials. Portions are generous, and the kitchen is fairly quick (remember that there will be waits at peak times, especially on Friday nights.)

Whole belly clams were exceptional! I have also bought fresh fish and shrimp there and it is always very fresh. From the outside it doesn't look like much but it is definitely a great place to stop for a quick bite of fish. They offer many Greek deserts as well. They look delicious but I haven't tried them yet.

I called numerous seafood shops in MA and CT to order a bushel of steamers for a backyard party. Grocery store prices were high but the seafood markets were quite comparable with each other. Steve's price was about .40 (cents) higher (per pound) than some other markets. He assured me that I would get nothing but the best. They would be cleaned thoroughly and there would be no broken ones . He said that I would be able to put them right in the pot from the bushel and enjoy without any other work. With that being said, I decided to pay the small extra per pound and ordered them from him. I AM SO GLAD I DID. THESE STEAMERS WERE EXCELLENT! THE BEST I EVER HAD! My guests were all impressed that there was not any sand or grit and complimented on how sweet and meaty these were. They were the hit of the party and a great way to start off the summer. Highly recommended.

Steve's is a small, family-owned-and-operated seafood market and takeout restaurant (the only seating inside is a small countertop near the front with three stools - better for waiting than for eating.) The selection is good, with some less-common items sold frozen from a cooler in front of the display case. Follow their ads in the local papers for sales. Because they are a specialty fish market, their prices may tend to be a bit more expensive than the supermarkets, but all the stuff in the display cases are top-notch fresh.

Excellent quality seafood when you're buying fresh fish. Dinners are small for the price you pay for them.
